For these six days, Pokemon GO players will get the chance to face off Mega Alakazam in Mega Raids for the first time ever. The legendary Pokemon from Gen 3, Deoxys, will also make an appearance in Raids on September 11, with an increased chance of being Shiny. All forms of Deoxys will appear in Five-Star Raids.

Psychic Spectacular 2022 Event Guide

Psychic-Type Spawns

Probably the best part about the Psychic Spectacular event is that there will be lots of Psychic-type Pokemon spawning on the map more often. This can be helpful, as some new Special Research tasks for Cosmog’s questline, A Cosmic Companion, require players to catch lots of Psychic-types.

Here’s a list of the wild Pokemon that will appear more frequently (they all have a chance of being Shiny, except for Gothita, Solosis, Kadabra, and Kirlia).

Eggs

Hatching 7km Eggs during the event might give players a Smoochum, Wynaut, or Chingling. Unfortunately, Chingling can’t be Shiny.

Raids

During the 2022 Psychic Spectacular event, Pokemon GO players can find the following Pokemon in Raid battles. They all have a chance of being Shiny, except for Unown and Oranguru:

One-Star Raids Unown E, Unown P, Unown, S, Espurr Three-Star Raids Alolan Raichu Wobbuffet Girafarig Oranguru Five-Star Raids All forms of Deoxys Mega Raids Mega Alakazam

Field Research Tasks and Rewards

Make 5 Curveball Throws (Elgyem Encounter) Make 5 Curveball Throws in a row (Chimecho Encounter) Spin 5 PokeStops or Gyms (Baltoy Encounter) Spin 15 PokeStops or Gyms (Hypno Encounter)

By completing Field Research tasks, players can also encounter Baltoy, Chimecho, Hypno, and Elgyem. And as for the Timed Research, the tasks will revolve around Curveball throws and will set players up with Elgyem encounters.

Again, due to the Cosmic Companion Special Research, players should take advantage of the abundance of Psychic-type Pokemon wandering the world this week. Remember, Psychic Spectacular ends on September 12.
