There is also special Field Research for players to complete as well some bonuses in the form of doubled Hatch Stardust, doubled Hatch Candy, and halved Hatch Distance. Fans will also have the opportunity to buy some brand new avatar items if they have some Coins to spare.

In general, these New Year’s 2022 Timed Research tasks are fairly straightforward in their instruction, and most players will already have a good sense of how they are to be addressed. That said, several of the tasks require some amount of movement, and those may be difficult for certain fans to tackle at the time of writing. If a player is unable to get out and work on these movement-based tasks, it is recommended that they simply turn on Adventure Sync in PoGO and shake their mobile devices until they are marked as complete.
One other aspect of the New Year’s 2022 event Timed Research that fans may have some questions about is the 2020 Glasses Slowpoke encounter that is awarded at the end of the fourth step. Indeed, receiving a Slowpoke with an out-of-date cosmetic may seem a bit odd, though it is inline with the Pokemon’s slowness. Additionally, players should be able to evolve their 2020 Glasses Slowpoke into a 2021 Glasses Slowbro and then into 2022 Glasses Slowking to get it up to date.
