With the recent batch of breakthrough rewards out of the way, Pokemon GO trainers will soon be able to earn Research Breakthrough Reward encounters with the popular Pokemon Trapinch. Although Trapinch isn’t exactly important to the PvP metagame players may still want to complete the weekly tasks multiple times so that they can snag this Pokedex entry if they somehow don’t have it already and also stock up on Candy for the popular species. That and earn some bonus Candy…

The June 2020 Research Breakthrough Rewards are officially available as of Monday (June 1), which means it’s almost time for players to start cashing in those stamps for another opportunity to encounter Trapinch. Although most players are stuck inside their houses this month, earning the Research Breakthroughs should still be pretty doable thanks to the temporary changes made to Pokemon GO.
June’s Research Breakthrough encounter: Trapinch with bonus Trapinch Candies
From Monday, June 1, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. to Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7), Trapinch, the Ant Pit Pokémon, will be available as a Research Breakthrough encounter.
Although Research Breakthroughs are usually popular, it seems like this batch will probably be a little less likely to motivate trainers to keep up those streaks and complete Field Research on a daily basis. To earn the special research breakthrough encounters, players just need to earn 7 stamps, by completing regular field research tasks that are collected from Pokestops.
For now, players may want to keep hunting down the best Unova Pokemon in the game if improving their Battle Raid rosters is their primary goal. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!

May Research Breakthrough encounter: Shinx with bonus Shinx Candies!
From Friday, May 1, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. to Monday, June 1, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7), the Flash Pokémon, Shinx, will be available as a Research Breakthrough encounter, and it’ll come with bonus Shinx Candies!
Although Research Breakthroughs are usually popular, it seems like this batch will probably be a little less likely to motivate trainers to keep up those streaks and complete Field Research on a daily basis (it probably won’t distract players from collecting the most powerful Unova region Pokemon). To earn the special research breakthrough encounters, players just need to earn 7 stamps, by completing regular field research tasks that are collected from Pokestops.
