Unlike its pre-evolved forms, Teddiursa and Ursaring, Ursaluna is a Ground/Normal-type Pokemon. Evolving Ursaring into Ursaluna required players to give it the evolutionary item, Peat Block, on the night of a full moon. However, it seems Pokemon GO has left out the evolutionary item this time around.
Getting Teddiursa And Ursaring
The bear cub Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild on November 12, 2022 from 2pm - 5pm local time. Like the Litwick Community Day, November Community Day will also double the amount of Candy when a Pokemon has been caught. Those that are just getting Teddiursa should take this opportunity to catch as many as possible to farm Candy for evolution and learning new moves.
In addition, Teddiursa has an increased appearance rate if players manage to defeat an Ursaring in a 4-star Bonus Raid Battle following November Community Day. The Teddiursa spawn rate will last for 30 minutes after a successful Raid Battle. These Teddiursa also have a chance of being Shiny, which may be ideal for Shiny Hunters.
To evolve Teddiursa into Ursaring, players need to feed it 50 Teddiursa Candy. Again, take the time to catch as many Teddiursa as possible during Community Day to grind up Candy for Ursaring and Ursaluna’s evolution. Once players have their Ursaring, the next step is getting Ursaluna.
Teddiursa is always available in the wild outside the event as well. As a Normal-type Pokemon, it has a higher chance of appearing during partly cloudy weather.
Evolving Ursaring Into Ursaluna
Fortunately for players that struggle getting Evolutionary Items from Poke Stops or Research Breakthroughs, Ursaring doesn’t need the Peat Block to evolve in Pokemon GO. Instead, players will want to make sure they have 100 Teddiursa Candy. As part of the event, a full moon will be visible in-game from November 12, 2022 (2:00pm Local Time) to November 13, 2022 (6:00pm Local Time). Like in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, Ursaring will be able to evolve as long as there is a full moon.
In short, the “Evolve” function for Ursaring will be accessible as long as players have 100 Candy, and there’s a full moon out. For those that may miss out on the full moon times for Community Day, don’t worry. Ursaring will be able to evolve into Ursaluna following the event as long as there’s a full moon in real time.
