The Roggenrola line includes Roggenrola, Boldore, and Gigalith. While these Pokemon were already in Pokemon GO before Unova Week, their shiny forms weren’t implemented until now. Players can tell a shiny Roggenrola from a non-shiny Roggenrola quickly by checking its core color. A normal Roggenrola will have a yellow core while a shiny Roggenrola will have an orange core.

While the shiny Roggenrola line has been added, finding a shiny Roggenrola won’t be the easiest. There isn’t any Roggenrola specific Community Day event planned as far as players know, so it will be hard for players to narrow down the Pokemon they’re searching for. However, now is one of the best times to hunt for one.

Many of the raid battles that will be running during Unova Week will be focused on Unova Pokemon. Roggenrola is one of these Pokemon that can appear as a raid. By challenging these raids, players may eventually find a shiny Roggenrola.

After obtaining a Roggenrola, it will require players to use 50 Roggenrola candies in order to evolve it into Boldore. However, there are two different ways to evolve Boldore into Gigalith.

The first and hardest method to evolve Boldore will require players to use 200 Roggenrola candies. This will obviously take a while to build up for most trainers unless they have a good stockade of rare candies or lucky spawns. However, the second method is far easier for most players.

Boldore can evolve into Gigalith without candies by simply trading Boldore to another player. This reflects Boldore’s original evolution method from the mainline Pokemon games.

Shiny Roggenrola, shiny Boldore, and shiny Gigalith do not have any kind of stat advantage compared to their non-shiny variants. Their alternate colors are simply for aesthetic purposes.

If players use these Pokemon in battle, these are their best possible movesets:

Roggenrola - Smack Down and Stone Edge Boldore - Smack Down and Stone Edge Gigalith - Smack Down and Rock Slide
