To note, while GO Battle Weekend will conclude on Sunday, July 10 at 11:59pm local time, this Special Research will be available until the end of PoGO’s Season of GO on September 1. That said, some bonuses that will be active during the event will make the Research’s tasks easier to complete and more rewarding. As such, it is recommended that players carve out some time during the weekend to work on the Field Notes: Team GO Rocket Special Research if they are able to do so.

With respect to how players should approach the Field Notes: Team GO Rocket Special Research, the first three steps center around battling Team GO Rocket Grunts in Pokemon GO. These foes can be challenged by spinning invaded PokeStops or tapping on Team GO Rocket Balloons, and fans will have the chance to catch a Shadow Pokemon after defeating a Grunt. These Shadow Pokemon can then be Purified from within their profiles by using Stardust and Candy.

After resolving the first three steps, players must set their sights on defeating the Team GO Rocket Leaders in PoGO. To encounter these more-powerful enemies, fans must use the Mysterious Components that they have earned from fighting Grunts to craft Rocket Radars and then equip them. Indeed, this item will reveal the locations of Team GO Rocket Leaders, and it also guarantees that players encounter them through the Team GO Rocket Balloons that fly overhead.

Once Arlo, Cliff, and Sierra have been dispatched, players have one final task to undertake: defeating Giovanni, the Team GO Rocket Boss. To find this foe, fans should equip the Super Rocket Radar that they received for completing Step 4 and then search for him or wait for him to fly in on a Team GO Rocket Balloon. Before players select one of these options they should know that it can be difficult to beat Giovanni in Pokemon GO, and they should make sure that they have a suitable team of Pokemon ready to fight.
