Tynamo’s max CP clocks in at 811 with an extremely shallow movepool to boot. People with Tynamo may prefer to use its final evolution, Elektross. Like Magikarp, Tynamo is well known for being a weak Pokemon with a powerful evolution. However, if trainers don’t have the right candies or Unova stones, they’ll want to know how to get the most out of Tynamo in raids and battles.

Capturing Tynamo
On March 2021, Pokemon GO featured a special event called Charge Up, in which Tynamo made its debut. With the event come and gone, the easiest way to capture Tynamo is when it’s raining in the real world. Electric types usually reside near industrial buildings or school campuses.
Another method to obtaining Tynamo is getting it through Pokemon Eggs if players missed the Timed Research Event.
Tynamo’s Strengths and Moveset
Like any other Electric-type, Tynamo has a 2x (160%) weakness to Ground-type and 1/2x (63%) resistance to Flying, Steel, and Electric types. It has 105 Attack, 78 Defense, and 111 Speed. While it certainly hasn’t made any top 10 worst Pokemon lists, Tynamo’s limited movepool requires a strategic trainer. In non-Pokemon GO entries, Tynamo has access to Tackle, Thunder Wave, Spark, and Charge Beam (Gen VII).
Tynamo’s moveset in Pokemon GO is:

For maximum DPS (damage per second), players should use Spark and Struggle over Tackle. The move Spark also has a STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus) advantage for Tynamo that Struggle and Tackle do not. Struggle, despite its low EPS (energy per second), has the highest DPS and base damage compared to Spark.
Players will get the most damage out of Tynamo if they stick to a STAB move and take Struggle over Tackle, which has a Base Damage of 5 and a DPS of 10. Thus, the recommended moveset for Tynamo in both offense and defense is:
Spark (Electric):
Base Damage Normal: 6 PVP: 4 DPS Normal: 8. 6 PVP: 5. 7 EPS Normal: 12. 9 PVP: 11. 4
Struggle (Normal):
Base Damage Normal: 35 PVP: 36 DPS Normal: 15. 9 PVP: 15. 9 EPS Normal: 0 PVP: -45. 5
There are other Electric-type Pokemon in Pokemon GO that are much stronger and durable than Tynamo. But for the trainers who want to obtain Elektross, they’ll need to make the most out of their Tynamo until they have 25 Candies to evolve it to the next stage.
Pokemon GO is available on mobile devices.
