After weeks of teasers and hints, Pokemon GO players now finally have the opportunity to earn an encounter with Genesect through a special ticketed research storyline. Much like the Colossal Discovery Special Research, players need to purchase a ticket in order to work through this storyline and earn the culminating encounter reward.

This time around, the focus is on helping Professor Willow unlock the secrets surrounding the Mythical Pokemon Genesect. Players who purchase a ticket to the A Drive To Investigate Special Research will be presented with a series of tasks that should all be doable without leaving the house. The quests will rely in some general Pokemon Spawns, but even players in total dead zones can get around that with some Incense.

Battle another Trainer 5x (GBL Counts win or loss) → 1000x stardust
Catch 25 Normal Type Pokemon → 3x Rare Candy
Give your buddy 1 treats (only need to give 1 berry) → Trubbish Encounter
