These three Pokemon were the fire type Cyndaquil, the grass type Chikorita and the water type Totodile. At the start of the game, the player character is given the option to pick one of these Pokemon to begin their journey. Later on, the rival character will pick the starter who has the elemental strength over the player’s. Of these three, Totodile is often listed as the most popular starter of the second generation.

In a recent post on the Pokemon subreddit, user bolincradleyart shared a drawing that they did of Totodile in a sassy pose with his hands on his hips. The drawing itself is a colored pencil drawing of the second-generation starter that looks absolutely stunning. Additional details give Totodile what appear to be stars, galaxies, and nebulas drawn throughout its body. One could even say that this version of Totodile is the center of the universe.
Pokemon fan art like this is very common on the internet. Some of this fan art is relatively simple, with artists showing off their own versions of the characters. In one instance, someone stitched together an embroidery featuring a basic version of Eevee as the centerpiece. Some artists, however, take their favorite Pokemon and let their imagination run wild with them.
In one instance, a fan decided to imagine the various Pokemon characters as members of the X-Men. Others have them filling out the ranks of Harry Potter and Mortal Kombat characters. Even crazier still, some have imagined characters like Totodile fused with other Pokemon like Machamp with some unexpected results.
The first Pokemon game was released all the way back in 1996 in Japan, before getting a wider world release in 1998. With an accompanying animated series, the franchise exploded, becoming a major pop culture phenomenon. Since then, the developers and publishers have continued to make Pokemon games with new starters for gamers to fall in love with. The newest set of starters will be introduced in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet later this year but new art based around the new starters like Fuecoco is already being made. It just all goes to show how creative fans can be with their Pokemon art.
