The Elite Four represent the best set of trainers in a regional Pokemon League, and there are several throughout the numerous Pokemon games. Bruno saw his first appearance in the second slot in Pokemon Red and Blue and has since moved up a spot in the Indigo Plateau.

This intimidating new look for the well-known Elite 4 Bruno comes from the mind of u/ibralui. The original look for this character was introduced in Pokemon Red and Blue and sees this muscular man sitting cross-legged in white pants with spiked bracelets. U/ibralui’s redesign has this figure resting with one leg down, the pair of white pants have a new red belt, and the spiked bracelets feature a tiny Poke ball as well. Bruno’s hair looks longer and matches its original color really well. The overall character has much more detail, veins are now visible, and he is surrounded by his pair of Onix with glowing eyes.

Those Pokemon fans that have played any game that featured the Indigo Plateau will likely remember facing off against this Fighting-type Pokemon trainer. While this image does much to show an intimidating version of Bruno, his battle can be quite straightforward. In his early appearances, he fought with a pair of Onix that were easy prey to anyone with a Water-type Pokemon. This left just three Fighting Pokemon to contend with.

Much like Bruno, Onix as a Pokemon appears intimidating but doesn’t tend to live up to this hype. Because it is a Ground and Rock-type Pokemon, Onix is 4x weak to both Grass and Water Pokemon, making most battles with an Onix an extreme challenge.

Then again, Onix is a perfect match against Poison-type and Flying Pokemon. The intimidating design of this Pokemon and its ability to evolve into Steelix still make it a viable option for some players’ teams. Either way, the master of Onix, Bruno, sees an amazing new look in this fan creation.
