First seen in the Hoenn Region of Pokemon Ruby, Emerald, and Sapphire as well as the remakes, Pokemon Omega Ruby and Sapphire, Mudkip was the water-type starter Pokemon along with grass-type Treeko and fire-type Torchic. Mudkip is modeled after a mudfish and evolves into Marshtomp and Swampert at the appropriate levels.

Reddit user miscellaneousmao posted a video showing off how they made some impressive mini tarts of the Pokemon Mudkip. The video shows the process the tarts go through from filling the tart shell to decorating them. The tarts are filled with vanilla bean pastry cream, butterfly pea jelly, and topped with some water plants and little Mudkips made out of shortbread tart dough with chocolate for the eyes, mouth, etc. The scene of the tarts is little Mudkips swimming in a pond with their heads, or bums sticking out of the “water” with some lilypads and cattails.
The artistry provided by miscellaneousmao in this video is evident and very notable. The blueberry pea jelly is the perfect way to represent a small pond for the little Mudkips to enjoy their swim. They even have a shiny Mudkip in another tart in the background. The imagery mirrors some promo pictures used for the Mudkip Community event in Pokemon GO where Mudkips are shown
The tarts look amazing, and it’s cool to see them being put together to become fully realized mini-tarts. Bakery treats involving Pokemon span fan creations as well as official videos depicting recipes of treats in the likeness of Pikachu and Jigglypuff. Fan creations are of course some of the best, especially if they are amateur bakers making things like these Mudkip Mini-tarts for fun and to show off their love of the franchise.
Bakery treats of Pokemon are always some of the most creative specimens. Sometimes made for promotional purposes as official merchandise, or fan creations like this one, treats made with Pokemon in mind, there’s always something new to see. Whether it’s Pokemon crochet crafts, fanart, or food, fans will always find fun ways to show their love for the franchise. These tarts are very adorable and should inspire more creations from other dedicated Pokemon fans.
