Although there are still questions about whether Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s starters will be bipedal or not in their final forms, many fans have already picked out their favorites. While all three Pokemon have received positive responses from eager players, it’s clear that some rank higher than others for some fans.

One such fan shared a cute animation of the three starters, Quaxly, Sprigatito, and Fuecoco, with fellow Pokemon fans on Reddit. Lazerpand1’s animation shows the three starters standing side by side, with audio from the Spanish dub of The Simpsons overlayed on top. Fans of The Simpsons may recognize the episode even with it being in another language, as it’s iconically used as an English meme, as well.

The starter Pokemon animation pans across the three, beginning with the new duck Quaxly. Quaxly strikes a pose, and the camera moves on to Sprigatito, who sneezes and falls down cutely, followed by Fuecoco, which seems to be amusing itself by chomping on its own tail. The voice over elicits an ‘aww’ over each one, up until Quaxly interrupts at the end, trying to hog the spotlight. At this point the player’s hand pushes the duck out of the way to look at Fuecoco again, with the Spanish dub declaring “Quitate tú,” or in the original English, “Out of the way, you!”

Fans in the comments were pleased by the animation, though it quickly becomes clear that many have already established which starter they’re going to pick. While some championed the cuteness of Sprigatito and Fuecoco, others stood up for Quaxly, charmed by the Pokemon’s Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure-like aesthetics and its general appearance and attitude.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet won’t be out for some time yet, and there’s a lot yet to be seen about Gen 9’s new region and world. While some Pokemon will likely be left out of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, nearly every game tasks players with exploring new areas and finding new creatures that have never been seen before in the series. With starters like these, hopefully the remaining new Pokemon to be revealed have similarly cute and appealing qualities that charm players, even if their old favorites don’t make the cut.
