Many fake leaks and rumors regarding Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have revolved around either possible starter evolutions or the concept of regional forms. Regional forms, which serve as a way to visually redesign and re-imagine Pokemon from earlier generations, typically feature an element unique to that region, such as Exeggutor appearing taller and more palm tree-like in Alola and Galar’s version of Weezing gaining a top hat. Previous leaks suggested regional forms for a number of Pokemon from the second and third generations including Whiscash, Quagsire, and Swampert.

One false leak featured a hypothetical regional form of the Ground-type Pokemon Diglett. This Diglett was portrayed as a tall Water/Ground-type with an appearance inspired by a geyser. Although the leak was debunked, one fan on Reddit liked the design so much that they created a 3D-printed sculpture of the geyser-like Diglett. The user, who goes by u/Professional_Long_78 on Reddit, used their 3D printer to bring the tall blue Diglett to life.

Alongside the version of Diglett from the false leak, u/Professional_Long_78 also 3D-printed a small, adorably smiling version of Hisuian Voltorb from Pokemon Legends: Arceus, which released earlier in 2022. This version of Voltorb, which references the different Pokeball construction techniques in the pre-modern Hisui region, takes the previously pure Electric-type Pokemon and turns it into a dual Electric/Grass type.

In addition to potential regional forms, fans of Pokemon have also been speculating about what sort of mechanical gimmick Pokemon Scarlet and Violet might add to the series. One rumor suggests that Pokemon Trainers might be able to temporarily add a new type to their Pokemon, potentially drastically altering their type advantages and disadvantages. If this rumor turns out to be true, it is definitely possible that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet might feature a lot of new dual-type Pokemon such as the fan-created Diglett variation.

Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet will release in late 2022 for the Nintendo Switch.
