While new Pokemon are introduced with each generation, Tangela has been a part of the series for a while. In fact, its blue vines first graced gamers’ screens in the original Gen 1 and have been featured in many subsequent installments. As its plant-like appearance attests, Tangela is a Grass-type Pokemon, and its physical appearance is hard to miss. Recently, one fan came up with a neat way to pay homage to the unique-looking pocket monster while giving it an edible twist.

Over on Reddit, a user that goes by ItsSundayBunday shared a picture of some Pokemon-inspired pastries they had baked. Specifically, these were tarts made to look like the Pokemon called Tangela, and the resemblance was impressive. In the image, the Pokemon fan had four pastries on a table, each with a pair of white eyes seemingly looking at the camera. These Tangela tarts included all the major design features of the actual Pokemon, including its blue vines and brownish feet.

Beyond the cute picture of the edible creations, ItsSundayBunday detailed how they prepared the pastries. According to the Reddit user, the tarts were similar to a mont blanc dessert. However, they noted that yam was used instead of chestnut since it was easier to dye blue. In addition, the feet of the Tangela were made using royal icing piped onto parchment paper. ItsSundayBunday pointed out that they waited for the icing to dry before placing them onto the tarts.

It seems numerous members of the Pokemon community have a sweet tooth for these Tangela tarts as well. The post already has several hundred upvotes, and a number of users have praised the edible creations. Among the comments, several users thought that the pastries were adorable. “Omgggg. These are too cute!!” one fan said. In addition, another person proposed a possible name for the creations, dubbing them “Tartgelas” in the comment section.

While these Tangela tarts are impressive, they are not the only edible Pokemon creations on the internet. In addition, gamers have made other tasty Pokemon treats, such as Darumaka Hot Chocolate Bombs. With over a thousand Pokemon now featured over the nine generations of games, there are many more options for ItsSundayBunday if they decide to make more edible treats inspired by pocket monsters.
