A Redditor by the name anthnoldimaginations shared a piece of animation that they are currently working on featuring the original generation of Pokemon. While the animations shown are in a rough state at the moment, they still flow smoothly, as the Pokemon run through their evolutionary lines.

So far anthnoldimaginations has only shared the first 17 Pokemon. They stated that in order to not be overwhelmed, they are sticking to 5 drawings per Pokemon and 5 drawings per evolution. They also stated that it will be some time before they draw all 151 pocket monsters. The animation will be cleaned up according to anthnoldimaginations, and will eventually be colored in as well. It was mentioned by the artist that they will post a new update every 15 Pokemon or so.

The Pokemon animations that anthnoldimaginations posted are receiving a lot of positive feedback. Many are stating that they cannot wait to see the finished product, and that they admire the artist’s passion. It was revealed in the posts comments that the artist is a high school animation teacher, to which some stated that they now want to be their students.

anthnoldimaginations is not the only one creating amazing drawings dedicated to Pokemon. An artist by the handle orangesdeen drew all the starting Pokemon, including the new starters for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. All the Pokemon were drawn with a cute, baby-like feel, with all of them being given their own personalities. This includes Totodile from Pokemon Gold and Silver being crouched and ready to pounce, as well as Chespin from Pokemon X and Y waving at the viewer. A few of the starters were even drawn in their Shiny colorings, adding more attention to detail. Whether the drawings are still or animated, both anthnoldimaginations and orangesdeen are showing how much amazing Pokemon art is being created in order to celebrate the legendary series.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will release in 2022 for Nintendo Switch.
