Reddit user I_Found_You_Faker recently shared fan art depicting their idea for a regional variant for Arbok in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Maintaining its primary purple color, I_Found_You_Faker’s Arbok swaps the black, yellow, and red color scheme for various shades of red and orange with a hint of white. Extending from the head of the Pokemon, I_Found_You_Faker’s Arbok has an orange ponytail similar to hair-like threads glued to some battle-worn helmets from human history.

Contrary to the standard Arbok first introduced with Pokemon Red and Blue back in 1996, I_Found_You_Faker’s Arbok trades the camouflage near its head that enables its Scary Face move for an area that extends around its face that resembles a hood. Like many real-world snakes, Arbok’s head is normally smooth as it jets forward from its cobra form, but I_Found_You_Faker’s Arbok has a tip above its head which further adds to the hooded appearance. Other than the tip which leads to this Arbok regional variant’s orange ponytail, the shape of the snake is mostly unchanged beyond a frilly collar and what appears to be armor for its body.
In existing Pokemon games, Arbok has a pattern near its head that makes it appear more intimidating, but I_Found_You_Faker’s Arbok regional variant has a more minimalist look with two large orange ovals on either side and an orange shape that extends from the snakes collar to the Pokemon’s lower jaw. There are seven separate sections of purple and orange armor for I_Found_You_Faker’s Arbok regional variant that come together to make it a Poison and Steel-type Pokemon. Potentially boosting its power in battle, Like Legendary Pokemon Zacian, I_Found_You_Faker’s Arbok features a sword that is raised above its head as it’s grasped tightly by the armored tail of the Pokemon.
Arbok is the first evolution of Ekans in Pokemon games, but I_Found_You_Faker hasn’t created a Pokemon Scarlet and Violet regional variant for the initial stage. The Pokemon Company has yet to confirm the real-world location Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s region is based on, but many Pokemon fans are noting its Spanish inspiration. Given the Spanish influence in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet that some fans are pointing to, I_Found_You_Faker’s Arbok resembles a Conquistador from the country’s past.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will release later in 2022 for Nintendo Switch.
