Many Pokemon fans were shocked by the announcement of Gen 9 titles, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, since they were first revealed a couple of weeks ago. After the release of Pokemon Legends: Arceus, it seemed that there weren’t going to be any more mainline games coming out this year, but fans will have a lot to look forward to at the end of 2022. With the announcement of the upcoming games, fans were also introduced to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s starters, Sprigatito, a Grass-type cat, Fuecoco, a Fire-type crocodile, and Quaxly, a Water-type duck. While they wait for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet to come out, some fans have been inspired by these starters to make their own creative projects.

All three starters in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have been met with a lot of praise, with Quaxly proving especially popular with some fans. It is small, has a yellow beak, white feathers, big, blue eyes and feet, and wears a blue hat. A Reddit user, Scoutisaspyable, uploaded an image of Quaxly made out of LEGOs that they built.

This LEGO version of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s Water-type starter shows how great it would be for Pokemon and LEGO to work together and make kits of other iconic Pokemon. While toy companies that share many similarities to LEGO, such as Nanoblock and Mega Construx, have their own Pokemon kits, LEGO doesn’t have any. Luckily, fans like Scoutisaspyable can still use LEGO pieces to make Pokemon in their image.

Scoutisaspyable has many other LEGO creations on their account. Though they aren’t all inspired by Pokemon, Scoutisaspyable’s projects do take influence from other video games, such as Yakuza 0 and Dying Light 2.

As fans wait for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet to release, there are many things to do in the meantime. While many still have a lot to do in other recently released games, such as Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl or Pokemon Legends: Arceus, some take inspiration from Pokemon to work on their own creations.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is coming out at the end of 2022 for the Nintendo Switch.
