This has led to a lot of players showing their love for the older Pokemon titles by creating pieces of art inspired by them. A lot of great works by artists keep the memory of the early generations alive through the use of their imaginations. One gamer is doing this by slowly but surely building the Kanto region out of LEGOs.

A Redditor going by the name Buscags1 posted an image of Route 2 from Pokemon Red and Blue that they built out of LEGOs. The piece is spot on, capturing all the aspects of the area from the games. Buscags1 included Viridian Forest, which is located on Route 2, as well as the entrance to Diglett’s Cave. They also added the gate that allows players to bypass the forest and the building containing an in-game trade.

Additional images of the piece can be seen on Reddit.

The LEGO version of Route 2 is only part of the project that Buscags1 is currently working on. The Redditor has already completed a chunk of the Kanto region, including Pallet Town and Route 1. The user intends to also build out the Johto region from Pokemon Gold and Silver and connect them together as one big piece. It may take some time, however, as Buscags1 stated that it takes them a few days to build each section. This is a very ambitious project and will be incredible once the whole thing has been done.

Buscags1 has garnered a fan base for their work on the LEGO Kanto region. A number of users thought the piece looked amazing and praised the attention to detail. One commenter mentioned that they were having a bad day, but that the images of the work made it better. Some stated that it would be nice if Buscags1 did Viridian Forest in its entirety, but the Redditor stated that it would have to be separate from the rest of the project and that they would not be able to add it to the entire project due to positioning. Buscags1’s work so far is impressive and definitely brings back a lot of memories of playing the original Pokemon Red and Blue.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will release on November 18, 2022, for the Nintendo Switch.
