Beedrill and Magnemite were both originally introduced in Pokemon Red and Pokemon Blue in the mid-1990s. While not the most popular of Pokemon, both have become mainstays in the franchise, having appeared in nearly every installment of the series. Magnemite made its latest appearance in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and can be a bit tricky to catch and evolve. However, it appears that some fans want to see both Magnemite and Beedrill evolve in an unexpected direction.

While artistic tributes to Pokemon are common, fusion tributes don’t appear as often, and sometimes happen by accident. In one instance a bizarre glitch made a set of the creatures in Pokemon GO fuse into something that looked like it belonged in Elden Ring. In Reddit user SUPERSADKIDDO’s case, however, the fusion was intentional. In it, they fused Beedrill and Magnemite together, creating something more horrific than cute. The majority of the form still resembles Beedrill but appears to be a robot version of it, with its drills, stinger, and casing all metal with one Magnemite eye in the center of its head.

While tributes to the two Pokemon may not be as common as, say, tributes to Totodile they can be found throughout the internet for those who know where to look. In one instance a Pokemon fan imagined what a Magnemite would be like in a horror movie. Another put together a piece of animation that showed a Beedrill hatching from the shell of a Kakuna. Not many of these tributes, however, generally look like an antagonist from a Sonic game.

As mentioned above, both Magnemite and Beedrill were first introduced in Pokemon Red and Pokemon Blue and have appeared in almost every game ever since. The latter of the two was missing from the latest installments, though it hardly seems to have affected Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s sales. So long as the franchise remains popular, fans of the two will exist and bizarre tributes like this will likely continue to find their way to the internet until the series finally comes to an end.
