James Turner, the art director for Pokemon, has shared his take on what a dark side version of the franchise’s mascot would look like. This Star Wars Pikachu, dubbed Darth Pika, has a truly menacing aura, and his evil intentions are laid bare by just one look at his frightening visage.

Of course, all of that’s bologna, cause this guy is just as adorable as ever. Of course, the new design features do make him a tad more deadly than the usual Pikachu, and it’s recommended to avoid the iron tail move at all costs.

Darth Pika, pictured above, features a new color scheme, being purple and pink rather than yellow and brown, a clear indication of which side of the force this dastardly villain prefers to associate with. What’s more, a floating Pokeball also colored with the Empire’s color scheme brings to mind images of either training droids or tie fighters. To complete Darth Pika’s fearsome look, he wears a helmet reminiscent of Darth Vader’s and even has some kind of augmentation that looks very similar to the buttons on Darth Vader’s armor.

Despite Darth Pika’s obvious affinity for wrongdoing, as is indicated by his red lightsaber tail, the comments section of Turner’s tweet is overwhelmingly positive, with fans of both franchises doting over the adorable drawing. Many respond with a solemn “May the 4th be with you,” while others make Pokemon puns and comment on the cutest Sith ever. In a time when joy and happiness are admittedly somewhat scarce, these sorts of moments are great to unite communities and give people the much-needed smile or laugh they may have been missing until this point.

Already Turner’s tweet has garnered over 6.6 thousand likes and 1.4 thousand retweets, meaning this image will be making its way around Twitter. With the fourth of May coming to a close in just a few short hours, now would be the time to share this wonderful Darth Pika art with a Pokemon or Star Wars fan near you.

Today is Star Wars Day.
